System Restore in Windows 7 and Vista

In my previous post I have described about the System Restore and the way to use it in Windows XP. Here I would like to describe the way to use this tool in Windows 7 and Vista.
To open the utility, go to your System Tools and open System Restore (Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore)
Alternatively, you can run the tool from the start button and type”system restore” into the Windows desktop search box and then hit enter on your keyboard.
Click next at the 'Restore system files and settings' prompt.

Now select your desired restore point and click next. If you need to see the older restore points, you need to put a check mark on the “show more restore points”. Also using the option “scan for affected programs”, you can check which programs may not work correctly and may need to be reinstalled if you use that restore point.

Finally confirm your restore point by reading over the details and if you are ready to proceed simply click the 'Finish' button to begin the restore point operation.
