How to Remove Internet Explorer Toolbars

An Internet Explorer Toolbar is an optional program that increases the functionality of Internet Explorer to perform certain tasks within the browser. Certainly, toolbars will provide a quick access to frequently used programs and services. However, using multiple toolbars may slow down the performance of a PC and browsing speed, so for a better performance keep one or two toolbar and remove others. One of the easiest and safest ways to remove toolbars from Internet Explorer is by using the Windows Add/Remove Programs tool.

How to Remove Internet Explorer Toolbars


Close all Internet Explorer windows, then click on the Windows Start button and then select the "Control Panel". Then open the Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features, there you can see the list of installed programs on your computer. Find the toolbars you would like to remove from the list of programs, click on the toolbar, and then select the "Remove" button. For Windows Vista or Windows 7, be sure to click on the "Uninstall a Program" link.
Alternately, you can Enable or disable toolbars by right click on the menu bar on the top of the Internet Explorer and select tool bar which you would like to enable or disable.
Refrain from installing toolbars like Mywebsearch, Babylon, Searchque which get installed along with freeware.  Some recommended toolbars are Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
