The screen is 10.1 inches and boasts a 1280 by 800 pixel resolution. There is an included S-Pen stylus with the tablet to make it easier to use. The rear-facing main camera is 5 megapixels and it is capable of capturing video at 720 pixels and 30 frames per second. The tablet takes a standard mini SIM card and is capable of connecting to your wireless carrier’s 3G data as well as Wi-Fi.


iPad mini


Apple’s iPad mini is the latest tablet computer available from the Cupertino, California tech giant. It is available in color choices of black and slate or white and silver in 16GB, 32GB or 64GB versions. You can also choose whether you want it to take Wi-Fi only or if you want a cellular data connection as well. Wi-Fi only versions start at $329, while those that take data start at a price point or $459. The iPad mini has a 7.9 inch screen that boasts a resolution of 1024 by 768. It comes equipped with the A5 chip and is powered by iOS 6, which is upgradable to iOS 6.1.2. The tablet has been available since November 2012 and continues to be a favorite among consumers.


Google Nexus 7


The Google Nexus 7 by Asus is another great Android tablet you may want to consider. It has a seven inch screen and is the first device to have included the 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It is available in internal storage amounts of 16GB and 32GB and has been on the market since July 2012. The single camera is only 1.2 megapixels, which is acceptable for video calling, but if you are looking to take photos on it, it may not be the right tablet for you. At the same time, it has a nice price tag of $199 or $249.


Microsoft Surface Pro


The newest tablet on the market, and one that is considerably different, is the Microsoft Surface Pro. It runs on Windows RT and is available with storage amounts of 32GB or 64GB. Included is a microSD slot that supports cards of up to 64GB as well. The tablet is powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz processor and includes a NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30 chipset. Unlike other similar devices, the Surface has a built in kickstand for easier using. It responds to multi-touch with five fingers and has a 10.6 inch screen with a 1366 by 768 pixel resolution. The Surface Pro is available for $600.
