No, this method leaves many associated files that got installed along with the software pack but sadly this is the only option available in Mac to remove apps. However, you can use third party applications to full fill this task.

AppCleaner is a small application which helps you to remove apps and all associated files from your Mac computer. It is a freeware which is available to download from http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

App Cleaner

You can remove most of the apps from Mac by dragging them to trash but there are few that will not. So install Appcleaner and simply drop an application onto the AppCleaner window. It will find the associated files and you can delete them by clicking the delete button on the AppCleaner interface. Not only that if you removed any apps before running Appleaner, it will notice the deleted app in the Trash and offer help you to remove leftover files if there is any. It also helps you to clean plug-ins, widgets, and anything else that has been installed on you Mac computer.

If you are a Mac user, test this app and leave a comment.
